To celebrate their 20th year of practicing law in the heart of East Tennessee, the G3 Help Me team sat down to reflect on how they got to where they are today.
From a small staff of only one paralegal and one attorney (G. Turner Howard III) to a diverse, fast-growing team of experienced professionals, G3 has made a name for themselves as the go-to personal injury law firm in the area.
With hundreds of five-star reviews and positive comments, these auto accident experts have achieved many accomplishments— not just for themselves, but for the clients that put their trust and faith in G3 when it’s needed most.
How does it feel to look back on the last 20 years of successes?
“Wow, how fast time has passed!” says Turner. “May 15th, 2000 seems like only yesterday. My original vision was formed around my purpose statement, which is framed on my office wall. It reads: ‘Honor Christ by providing a safe haven for service and justice through the practice of law.’ That mission statement has informed every decision I’ve made and is the reason for every step we have taken in the right direction. As a team, we never truly lost; we either won or learned along the way.”
What would you say is the firm’s biggest accomplishment so far?
Account Manager and Turner’s wife, Jane Howard, says G3’s biggest accomplishment “isn’t necessarily measured in money or case numbers, but in the growth of our team members over the years and in the respect we continually receive from the entire Bar. We obtained this respect after decades of hard work, and as a result of always choosing the ‘harder right’ over the ‘easier wrong,’” she recalls.
What is G3’s “Golden Rule,” and how has it helped get the firm to where it is today?
“The Golden Rule is one of the secrets to the success of our law firm, answers Turner. “We’ve grown the G3 brand in many ways, but our Golden Rule philosophy of always treating our clients the way we’d want to be treated has remained an unwavering commitment to ourselves and the community.”
Firm Administrator, Nicole Griffin, adds that, “as a result of our Golden Rule philosophy, 20 years of deserving, trusting clients have helped us grow by spreading positive word of mouth about how we handle cases. Coupled with strategic use of our marketing funds, this word of mouth has helped develop a strong reputation that lives on to this day.”
What is the best part of your job?
Turner says his favorite part of the job is simply being with the team in an office setting and during celebratory occasions, like the firm’s 20th anniversary.
“I’ll always love practicing law, but today that encompasses so much more and encompasses the added challenge of inspiring and managing a dynamic, growing practice. As a leader to my team, the best advice I’ve ever been given that I hope they take away from their time at G3 is to demonstrate integrity at all times. Promoting that kind of environment and fostering a workplace that reflects stability, security, and serenity has been one of the most rewarding parts of the last 20 years.”
What’s to come for G3?
The newest addition to the G3 team, Attorney Matthew Vande Brake, predicts that “the future of G3 Help Me law will only continue to get brighter. As much as G3’s grown in reputation and size over the past two decades, I still strongly believe that we’ve only just begun. Together, this team will continue to strive for greatness by authentically collaborating with clients, taking calculated risks, and setting higher and higher goals for ourselves.”
Turner, what’s the hardest lesson you’ve learned over the past 20 years?
“The hardest lesson I’ve learned the past twenty years can be summed up in five words: the only certainty is uncertainty. I’m a disciplined person by nature and seek control in life. So, when life throws a curveball from time to time, I sometimes struggle with it. However, over the years, I’ve also learned how to be more flexible and adjust to those curveballs accordingly, and I feel confident that my team has learned how to as well.
Though we aren’t perfect by any means, the G3 team is always working to improve. We’re committed to greatness because our clients deserve the best. It’s that simple.”
